Feeling Like You Are Going To Throw Up And Feeling Amazing At The Same Time

Sprinting is a funny thing.


Best post workout position

To Sprint: To exert to the fullest.

Short term effects:Feeling like you are going to throw up and feeling amazing at the same time.

Long term effects: Faster speed, stronger muscles, increased endurance.

So I went to the track on Wednesday to experience all these things.

2 lap warm up

3×400 meter sprints with easy 400 in between. I got between 1:22, 1:24, 1:23. Yay consistent!  I have no idea if that’s pathetic or not since I’m new to this whole short distance stuff.

3×200 sprints with an easy 200 in between. 41, 42, 39. I pushed for that last one.

And then I almost puked. Keep in mind that it was 250 degrees outside with about 1,000% humidity (no exaggeration!).

Then I attempted my 3×100 meter sprint but after going into a jog, that unpleasant feeling came back so I decided to call it quits and walked a few more laps while simultaneously hydrating.

I left the track went for a dip in the pool and felt amazing the rest of the afternoon.

Yay sprints!

What I’m still holding onto slightly….Should I have toughed it out for the last couple of sprints? Is running until you vomit good for your body? I’m going with no. Happy body, right?

But I would love to hear some opinions.
